THRU CONDUIT SLAB &
EXPANDING GATE VALVES
SCV Valve
The SCV Thru Conduit Slab & Expanding Gate Valves are full-bore isolation valves built to API 6D for pipeline and process service. When open, the gate presents a smooth through-conduit bore equal to the line, passing pigs with minimal pressure loss.
The slab gate uses a bored slab with floating, spring-energized seats for a pressure-energized seal in a travel-position-seated design, while the expanding gate mechanically wedges against both seats for a positive two-way seal in a torque-seated design. Both carry dual seat sealant injection ports and stem packing injection.
Available in sizes 2″ through 42″ and ASME Class 150 through 1500, the valves use a carbon steel body, stainless stem, and soft PTFE-insert or metal stellite seats. An OS&Y rising stem, NACE MR-01-75 construction, and optional bore coatings complete the package, with higher-pressure API 6A and geothermal configurations available.
Typical Applications:
Piggable pipeline isolation, oil, gas, and crude transmission and gathering, production and injection wells, processing and geothermal service, and power and petrochemical plants.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
Why the SCV Thru Conduit Slab & Expanding Gate Valve
Perform Where It Counts
FULL-BORE, PIGGABLE FLOW PATH
The through-conduit design presents an unobstructed full bore, so the valve passes pigs and spheres with minimal pressure loss. That makes it the reliable isolation choice on pipelines that are regularly cleaned or inspected.
TWO SEALING DESIGNS FOR THE SERVICE
The slab gate delivers a pressure-energized seal that tightens as line pressure rises, while the expanding gate delivers a positive mechanical two-way seal independent of pressure. Selecting the right design matches the sealing method to the application rather than forcing one compromise.
IN-SERVICE SEALING AND MAINTENANCE
Dual seat sealant injection ports and stem packing injection let operators restore a seal and refresh packing without pulling the valve. That extends service intervals and reduces downtime on critical isolation points.
MATERIALS AND COATINGS FOR SEVERE SERVICE
Soft PTFE or metal stellite seats, NACE-compliant construction, and optional Scotchkote and epoxy bore coatings match the valve to corrosive, abrasive, and high-temperature conditions. One platform covers standard pipeline duty through geothermal and sour service.
