LUBRICATED PLUG VALVE
SCV Valve
The SCV Pressure Balanced Lubricated Plug Valve is a quarter-turn tapered plug valve in cast and forged steel for bidirectional isolation. A tapered plug rotates ninety degrees, and an injected sealant film forms the seal between plug and body while lubricating the sealing surfaces.
The pressure-balanced design relieves line pressure across the plug so it does not wedge into the body, keeping operating torque low and consistent. Short, regular, and venturi patterns match port area and face-to-face length to the service, with sealant injection to both seat ports and the stem housing.
Available in sizes 1/2″ through 36″ and ASME Class 150 through 2500, the valve carries a carbon steel body and stainless stem and conforms to API 6D, API 599, and ASME B16.34, with face-to-face per ANSI B16.10. A stem packing injector, plug adjustment screw, and NACE MR-01-75 construction complete the package.
Typical Applications:
Pipeline block and bypass isolation, distribution and transmission, refineries and gasoline plants, compressor and processing plants, venting service, and bidirectional shut-off.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
Why the Pressure Balanced Lubricated Plug Valve
Performs Where It Counts
LOW, CONSISTENT OPERATING TORQUE
The pressure-balanced design relieves line pressure across the plug so it does not jam into the tapered body under pressure. Operating torque stays low and predictable across the pressure range, easing both manual and actuated operation.
INJECTED SEALANT SEALS AND PROTECTS
An injected sealant film forms the primary seal between the plug and body while lubricating the sealing surfaces to reduce wear. Operators can refresh the seal and flush debris from the sealant system in service, extending life without pulling the valve.
THREE PATTERNS FOR THE SERVICE
Short, regular, and venturi patterns let the same valve family match port area and face-to-face length to the line, from largest-port full flow to compact wedge-gate-equivalent dimensions. That flexibility fits varied flow and layout requirements.
BIDIRECTIONAL QUARTER-TURN ISOLATION
The tapered plug turns ninety degrees for fast open-close operation and seals in both directions as standard. That gives quick, reliable block service on transmission, distribution, and plant lines.
