AF Series | Inline Flame Arrestors
BelGAS FM Flame Management
The BelGAS FM AF Series Inline Flame Arrestors are critical safety devices designed to stop flame propagation in pipelines and vapor systems. Engineered for in-line and near end-of-line applications, these arrestors prevent ignited vapors from traveling downstream and causing damage to equipment or personnel.
The arrestor utilizes a spiral wound, crimped flame cell that removes heat from the flame front as it attempts to pass through narrow channels. This heat absorption extinguishes the flame while still allowing gas to flow through the system, providing both safety and operational continuity.
Designed for flexibility, the AF Series is bi-directional and can be installed in horizontal or vertical orientations. With multiple sizes, materials, and configurations available, these arrestors provide reliable protection in a wide range of gas handling applications.
Typical Applications:
Dehydration units, gas production systems, line heaters, combination units, vapor control systems, and pipeline protection

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
Why the AF Series Performs Where It Counts
CRITICAL FLAME PROPAGATION PROTECTION
The flame cell absorbs heat from the flame front, preventing it from traveling further into the system. This protects downstream equipment and reduces the risk of explosions in vapor systems.
NO MOVING PARTS FOR MAXIMUM RELIABILITY
As a passive device, the arrestor has no internal moving components, eliminating wear points and reducing maintenance requirements. This ensures long-term, dependable performance.
FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION IN ANY
SYSTEM ORIENTATION
Bi-directional flow capability allows installation regardless of flow direction, simplifying system design and reducing installation constraints.
FIELD-SERVICEABLE DESIGN FOR
REDUCED DOWNTIME
The optional 3-piece construction allows access to the flame cell for inspection and cleaning without removing the entire unit, minimizing downtime and maintenance effort.
