P4000 | Mechanical Dump Valve
BelGAS CP
The BelGAS CP P4000 Mechanical Dump Valve is a float-operated valve designed for liquid level control in oil and gas separation and accumulation equipment. It operates in conjunction with a P8000 trunnion assembly or other float-operated lever, opening and closing mechanically as liquid levels rise and fall without requiring any pneumatic signal or external power source.
The P4000 uses a balanced diaphragm design where the diaphragm area equals the seat area, canceling upward and downward pressure forces against each other. This allows the valve to operate consistently regardless of changes in fluid pressure, maintaining reliable dump action across varying inlet conditions.
The valve is rated for 300 PSIG maximum working pressure with a temperature range of -20°F to 200°F and achieves ANSI Class VI shutoff per ANSI/FCI 70-2-2013. Available in diaphragm balanced and piston balanced styles with multiple seat elastomer and trim material options, the P4000 is sized for 2″ x 2″ female NPT installations in separators, treaters, knockouts, and similar accumulator vessels.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
We Provide The Best Website Design Solution
Pressure-Independent Operation
The balanced diaphragm design equalizes forces across the seat, allowing the valve to open and close consistently regardless of fluctuating inlet pressures. This eliminates erratic dump behavior caused by pressure variation in separators and treaters operating under variable conditions.
Simplified Field Maintenance
Valve trim is fully accessible by removing the bonnet without pulling the valve from the line, reducing downtime during service. The elimination of key slots from the trunnion and lever hubs further simplifies disassembly and prevents the binding issues common in older designs.
Reduced Friction and Wear
Acetal bushings at all metal-to-metal contact points reduce friction and wear compared to direct metal contact, allowing the valve to operate more smoothly over a longer service life. O-ring seals replace traditional packing, providing better sealing with less frequent adjustment.
Broad Vessel Compatibility
The P4000 is suited for separators, treaters, knockouts, and other accumulator vessels where mechanical liquid level dumping is required. It pairs directly with the BelGAS CP P8000 hammer union and trunnion assembly for a complete float-operated dump system.
