Model 5000 DAV™ | Diaphragm-Actuated Gate Valve
Forum Energy Technologies (FET)
The FET Model 5000 DAV™ is a diaphragm-actuated gate valve designed for critical safety and shutdown applications in wellhead and production systems. Engineered as a compact, all-in-one safety solution, it combines a spring-return diaphragm actuator with a hardened gate and dual floating seats to deliver reliable, automatic shutoff under high-pressure conditions.
The valve is capable of fail-open or fail-closed operation depending on configuration, ensuring system protection during pressure loss or emergency events. With a maximum working pressure of 5,000 PSI and a minimum actuator pressure requirement of just 60 PSI, the DAV provides dependable actuation even in low control pressure environments.
Designed for durability, safety, and ease of integration, the DAV reduces system complexity while protecting personnel, equipment, and the environment in high-risk applications.
Typical Applications:
Wellhead wing valves, emergency shutdown systems, casing relief, gas lift systems, blowdown lines, intermitter processes, and dump systems

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
Why the DAV Gate Valve Performs Where It Counts
FAIL-SAFE OPERATION FOR CRITICAL SYSTEMS
The spring-return diaphragm actuator ensures the valve automatically moves to its fail position during loss of control pressure. This provides immediate system protection in emergency scenarios, reducing risk to personnel and equipment.
RELIABLE SEALING UNDER HIGH PRESSURE
Dual floating seats combined with a hardened gate provide consistent, positive sealing even in high-pressure and variable flow environments. This ensures dependable isolation in critical safety applications.
LOW CONTROL PRESSURE REQUIREMENT WITH HIGH OUTPUT PERFORMANCE
Requires only 60 PSI actuator pressure to operate at full working pressure, making it highly effective in systems with limited or fluctuating control pressure availability.
COMPACT, ALL-IN-ONE SAFETY SOLUTION
Integrates actuation and valve functionality into a single unit, reducing system complexity, installation footprint, and overall cost compared to multi-component safety systems.
